This filter can be ordered with "Optional" activated charcoal impregnated into the filter media.  Activated charcoal absorbs many foul odors and harmful gases in your home or office.   Activated charcoal doesn't just mask or cover up the odors.  Instead, millions of tiny granules capture and hold hundreds of different gases and odors.

Note:  MERV 11 or MERV 13 filters cannot be impregnated with Odor-Ban because it would cause too much resistance on the air flow.  The Odor Ban filter is not tested for MERV, however you can expect a MERV performance of MERV 8 or 9.
