It can turn out to be painful when a
customer orders the wrong size filter, for the customer as well as for us.
Because of the size of the filters, it's very costly to ship these filters
back and forth. Unfortunately, sometimes we are in a hurry when shopping
Online and mistakes happen.
Here are some TIPS
for ordering the correct filter.
DO NOT rush through the check-out process.
I think this is where most mistakes happen. People know what
they want but put the wrong filter in the shopping cart. Then they
rush through the check out process without looking at the item description.
After you place an order we will email you an automatic confirmation.
Please check the description in the confirmation to make sure you have
ordered the right filter.
Don't use the model number or brand of your furnace or air handler.
Don't use the size written on the frame of the filter. This size might
be a "Nominal" size (see next tip).
Don't use the "Nominal" size. Nominal sizes are sizes that have been
rounded off. For instance, don't use 20x25x5, 16x25x4, etc., etc.
Don't be in a hurry! If you are not sure which filter you need, gather
as much info as possible and email us.
If you have a deep (thick) filter, 4" or 5" or 6" deep, look at the filter
housing to see if there is a brand name. Brand is important.
Look at the filter housing for a filter part number.
Look at the existing filter for a brand name and/or filter part number.
If you can't find the filter housing model number or filter part number,
then actually measure the filter. The "Actual" measured dimension of
your filter should match the Actual dimension of the filter shown on our
website.
And, by all means, email us - email us
- email us. Waiting a day or two to order the right filter will
be well worth it.
