How often should a one half inch (1/2") filter be changed?.....There are many variables that go into answering that question. Most important is how often you run your system, how dusty your neighborhood
is, the size of the duct system, the size of your home, etc, etc.....
Let's face it, no one is going to sit there and figure out all those variables, so the most logical answer is "look at your filter after a couple months and use your judgement. If you want a rule of thumb, then I would say every three months.
